Our Promise

Established in 1998, the Ozark Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure raises awareness and funds to support our PROMISE of saving lives and ending breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for all and energizing science to find the cure.

Our Work

Since 1999, the Ozark Affiliate has raised nearly $7 million to help save lives through community grants in the area of breast health and breast cancer education, outreach, screening and treatment support targeting services not otherwise available to uninsured or underinsured women and men in our 10 county service area.  Our service area includes; Benton, Boone, Carroll, Crawford, Madison, Newton, Sebastian and Washington counties in Arkansas and Stone and Taney counties in Missouri.

75% of net funds raised through opportunities like Race for the Cure, special events, individual donations and corporate philanthropy are invested back into our 10 county service area to help local people.

We offer support and hope to everyone touched by breast cancer.

The Ozark Affiliate is currently funding 12 programs totaling $670,433 in the April 1, 2014-March 31, 2015 grant cycle to support the mission of breast health.  These grantees will provide education, screening and treatment services to uninsured or underinsured women and men in the 10 county service area.  Additionally, all of the grantees that are funded provide target services to those in their neighborhoods and counties.  These grant programs provide services such as; screening, treatment, genetic testing, emergency financial assistance, counseling, prescription assistance, gas cards, navigation assistance, etc…

Grants are reviewed by an independent review committee who makes recommendations for funding based on the Ozark Affiliate’s priorities.  Grants are not guaranteed for any organization and each must reapply every year for funding.
