Hope Cancer Resources became a reality in September 2009 after the merger of HOPE, Inc and NARTI.  Separately, both organizations had a long history of serving cancer patients and the Northwest Arkansas community; together, as Hope Cancer Resources our mission is to provide compassionate, professional cancer support and education in the Northwest Arkansas Region today and tomorrow.  To that end, the purpose of this project is to assure that breast cancer patients receive support through the journey that they face during diagnosis, throughout treatment and beyond.  We will meet these needs by providing navigation support through potential diagnosis as well as financial support for diagnostic breast biopsies through our Save-A-Life program.  If a patient is diagnosed, Hope Cancer Resources staff will conduct distress assessments for new chemotherapy and radiation patients and provide appropriate interventions.  We provide general information, referral and application assistance for various resources including pharmaceutical sponsored prescription assistance and healthcare foundations.  We offer direct financial assistance for medication and other emergency financial needs and mental health services including crisis intervention, therapeutic counseling and support groups.  In addition, we are able to offer up to 12 patients financial assistance to receive genetic testing.
