Since 2002, Washington Regional has offered the Northwest Arkansas community the services of the Breast Care Navigator, touching the lives of over 722 women.  The mission of Washington Regional—to improve the health of the people in communities served through compassionate, high-quality care, prevention and wellness education—is met daily through the outreach, advocacy, and education provided by the Navigator. Washington Regional offers the services of the Breast Care Navigator free to anyone, not only Washington Regional patients. The program is continuously evaluated with input from patients in the program and from guidance from our physician partners and staff at Washington Regional.

The Breast Care Navigator offers specialized guidance and support to those recently diagnosed with breast cancer, or recurrent breast cancer.  These services cross the boundaries of age, race, culture or background.  The WR Navigator provides a valuable continuum of care by following a survivor through breast cancer diagnosis and treatment, aiding in dispelling fear, linking to financial and quality of life support resources, and serving as an advocate and friend to the patients and their families.  Further, the Breast Care Navigator promotes community health by presenting breast self-exam instruction and educational outreach.
