Race Information

Whose Life Are You Running For?  Participate in the 16th Annual Komen Ozark Race for the Cure®, to be held Saturday April 26th at the Pinnacle Hills Promenade Mall in Rogers, AR, and show everyone whose life you are running for. Are you running for your mother, your sister, a co-worker, a friend? Are you running for your own life? Or are you running for the future? No matter whose life you are running for, now is the time to get involved and run for their life!

General Parking:

Unless restricted by permit, there is ample parking for all race participants. Parking is available at the Mall, carpooling is encouraged.

In addition, retail establishments that are opening early on Race Day have restricted parking for patrons, including:

  • Mimi’s Café
  • Texas Land & Cattle
  • Bed Bath & Beyond

Survivor Breakfast

Drop in survivor breakfast. Breast cancer survivors and one guest are invited to stop by our Survivor Reunion Breakfast sponsored by Walmart/Sam's Club. Join us at your leisure in the Food Pavilion between 6:45 and 8:45 am.  The survivor parade and photo will start at the Food Pavilion before the competitive 5K Race; photo at 7:50, parade at 8:05.

 

Competitive 10K Race – 7:30 am

Join us again this year for our 10K course. The course is certified by USAFT and each participant will be timed and receive a commemorative medal.  Awards will be given to the top three place survivors, male and female participants.

All participants should be registered and packets picked up by close of business on April 25th.

 

Competitive 5K Race – 8:00 am

The competitive event features a 5K course certified by the USAFT. Chip timing is included in your registration fee.

This race is sponsored by Dean Foods

Non-Competitive 5K Race – 8:30 am

For those that want to run or walk at their own pace, the non-competitive event will be on a 5K course certified by the USAFT.


Family Fun Walk – 9:00 am

Not up for the full 5K?  Join us for the Family Fun Walk 1K course through Pinnacle Hills Promenade Mall sponsored by Johnson and Johnson. Bring the whole family and enjoy a more leisurely pace while continuing to make an impact against breast cancer.

Bark for the Cure – 8:00 am

Bring your dog to PetSmart at Pinnacle Hills Promenade Mall for the Komen Ozark Bark for the Cure sponsored by Milkbone. Walk your best friend through the 1K route with a water stop at the end. Prizes will be given in the following categories throughout the event:

  • Ugliest dog
  • Pink Pride
  • Dog/Owner look alike
  • Biggest dog
  • Smallest dog
  • Best trick 

Only one dog per participant please.


Kids for the Cure®

Kids 12 and under, along with their parents, are invited to join in the fun at Kids for the Cure. Founding sponsor Willard & Pat Walker Charitable Foundation, Inc. and Presenting Sponsor Kimberly-Clark invite you to this kid-friendly area featuring food, fun, and our Kid’s Dash sponsored by Kraft Foods. Kids will receive a special and uniquely designed Kids for the Cure t-shirt. The first 1,500 kids on Race day will also receive a race medal sponsored by Pepperidge Farm.

Parental supervision is required. 


Teens for the Cure  

This is a wonderful way for schools in our community to show their support by putting together a team of students to walk or run. You will receive a specially designed "Teens for the Cure" t-shirt. The cost is $15 and you must be signed up as part of a team through your school or organization before race day.


Pasta Party

2014 Susan G. Komen Pasta Party sponsored by The Washington Regional will be held at Pratt Place Barn in Fayetteville, AR. This year's event will be Friday, April 25th from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm.  Event tickets are $40.00 per person.  Visit komenozark.org to purchase tickets. Children under 6 eat free.

Race Registration for the Fort Smith Area

April 17th-24th: 11 am – 3:00 pm – 1508 Rogers Avenue, Fort Smith, AR

Participants are encouraged to review primary and alternate routes, carpool and arrive EARLY. Lane closures and lane restrictions on the Race course begin at 6 AM and a very high volume of vehicular traffic is expected. Patrol cars from the City of Rogers Police Department will be present on all streets surrounding the venue to ensure public safety and efficient traffic flow. Please also review all Parking information in advance to ensure you are aware of restricted areas.

Primary routes:

  • Traveling north on I-540, take exit 82 and turn right off the exit. Proceed to the Pinnacle Hills Promenade Mall and turn left on Promenade Boulevard.
  • Traveling south on I-540, take exit 83 and turn left off the exit turn left on New Hope Road. Turn right on Promenade Boulevard.

Alternate routes:

  • Traveling north on I-540, take exit 81, and turn right off the exit. Continue on Pleasant Grove Road and then turn left on Dixieland Road. Turn left on New Hope Road, then turn left on Promenade Boulevard.
  • Traveling north on I-540, take exit 78, and turn right off the exit. Continue on Highway 264 and then turn left on Dixieland Road. Turn left on New Hope Road, turn left on Promenade Boulevard.
  • Traveling south on I-540, take exit 85 and turn left off the exit. Continue on Walnut Street and then turn right on Dixieland Road. Turn right on New Hope Road, then turn left on Promenade Boulevard.

  • Traveling south on I-540, take exit 82 and turn left off the exit. Proceed to the Pinnacle Hills Promenade Mall and turn left on Promenade Boulevard.

 

Our top two individual fundraisers will receive one roundtrip air transportation on American Airlines or American Eagle to any destination in the contiguous U.S. The first 150 people to raise $150 will receive a $25 Belk gift card. The top 25 fundraisers will gain the status of PINK WARRIOR and receive special incentives and recognition. NEW this year, teams raising $5,000 or more will have a tent in our Team Tailgate area with food, prizes, VIP Port-o-Potty and more!

Safety

For the safety of all participants, rollerblades and pets are not permitted on the Family Fun Run and certified 5K and 10K Race courses. Strollers are allowed in the untimed events only and participants are asked to line up behind runners. Thank you for your cooperation.

Due to safety and insurance, each participant is required to wear a race bib. You may pick up your race bib when you get your t-shirt, and if you paid the mailing fee for your t-shirt then your bib will also be mailed to you.

Cancellation Statement

This event will occur rain or shine. We Reserve the right to cancel in extreme circumstances. In that event, there will be no refunds, rather, your entry fee will be used as a donation to the Komen Ozark Race for the Cure®
