FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Q. Does the Race recognize breast cancer survivors?

A. Yes! Survivors remind us all that participating in this event is a part of a bigger race to find a cure for breast cancer. Survivors are recognized in a number of ways:


• Survivors receive a complimentary pink cap and pink T-shirt at the Survivor Breakfast.
• “In Celebration of” and “In Memory of” pink place cards are available at the Race to pay tribute to loved ones and friends affected by breast cancer. For questions about the survivor program call the Komen office at 479.750.7465

Q. Do I have to collect pledges in order to join the Race?

A. No you do not have to collect pledges in order to join the race. However this is one way we are able to raise additional funds to help the uninsured and underinsured in our service area.

Q. Where do I turn in my pledges?

A. Pledges can be submitted with your entry fee, mailed to Susan G. Komen Ozark Affiliate, turned in at the Team Packet Pickup event or turned in at the Race registration office on race day.

Q. What is Sleep in for the Cure?

A. Sleep in for the Cure allows you to still support the Race even if you’ll be out of town, or prefer to sleep in on Race day. Register as a Sleep in for the Cure participant and you’ll receive a specially designed sleep shirt (one-size fits all). All Sleep in shirts will be mailed out; however if you would like your race packet before race day your registration form must be received by April 13, 2012.

Q. How many people does it take to constitute a team?

A. Minimum of 10 individuals is required for a team.

Q. Can someone be added to a team after the deadline?

A. Team captains wishing to pick up team materials for the group must have paper registrations turned into one of our offices by the deadline of April 8th or online registration must be completed by the deadline of April 15th before midnight. Team participants that did not meet the deadline may still register with the team but must pick up their packet separately.

Q. I signed up online as an individual and I meant to sign up on a team. How do I correct this?

A. Send an email to komenozark@gmail.com with your name and the team name you’d like to be added to no later than April 15th.

Q. What is the final date to register?

A. Teams with paper registrations turned into one of our offices by the deadline of April 8th or online registration must be completed by the deadline of April 17th before midnight. Online registration closes on Friday, April 27th at midnight. New registrations will be accepted on Race day at the registration office.

A. Please do not mail cash, instead send checks or money orders.

Q. Who do we make the check payable to?

Q. What is Team Packet Pickup?

A. Team Packet Pickup is where team captains pick up their T-shirts and bib numbers for their team members prior to Race day. Individual team members may not pick up their T-shirt and bib numbers at these events. They must get their items from their team captain.

Q. Are inline skates, bikes, scooters, skateboards or strollers allowed at the Race?

A. For the safety of all participants, inline skates, bikes, scooters and skateboards are not allowed at the Race. Strollers are fine; however, we ask that those with strollers start the Race toward the back of the pack.
