Pink Goes Green
Goes Green" at the top of the page and add the following article: The theme for this year’s Komen Ozark Race for the Cure is “Pink Goes Green". We all realize how important it is to be nice to our environment and therefore at the Komen Ozark office we are working extra hard to make this years race as environmentally friendly as possible! You can help in this effort by registering online for the race at www.komenozark.org. You can also register you team online. Online registrations will reduce the amount of paper registration forms and help us Go Green!! In addition to registering online, we also encourage you to car pool with other friends and family members that may be joining in the Race festivities as to conserve gas and be more environmentally friendly.
Tribute to Breast Cancer Surviors
Race Day is truly inspirational when you see our breast cancer survivors in their pink caps and T – shirts. Also, note the number of pink ribbons they have pinned to their cap—this represents the number of years they have been survivors. These survivors are a testimony as to why the Ozark Affiliate does what it does. A big thank you to Zeta Tau Alpha for providing these shirts can caps.. These can be picked up at the Registration office at the mall before the race or at the Survivor Reunion breakfast located at the Pinnacle Hills Promenade Food Court.
Breast cancer survivors have an opportunity to recognize and honor loved ones—friends, co – workers, and/or medical staff who served as a source of support and inspiration through diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Survivors are welcome to invite one special co-survivor to join them for breakfast at the Survivor Reunion Breakfast. The co-survivor will be given a wristband allowing them access to the Survivors area. Survivors and co-Survivors will be honored and recognized with a special gift. Survivor events that morning include the Bedford Camera & Video Survivor Picture at 7:15 a.m. and the Fed Ex Freight Survivor Parade at 7:30 a.m.
Breast cancer survivors who wish to be recognized may pick up their complimentary pink cap and pink t-shirt provided by Zeta Tau Alpha. We would also like to invite participants to recognize those special people who have been touched by breast cancer. Pick up your “In Memory of" and “In Celebration of" placards to celebrate your loved ones.
Kids Dash
Children 5 (five) and under may support the Race by participating in their own special event by registering for the Kids Dash. The dash will be a short course in the Kids for the Cure area.
Go the Extra Mile and Raise Pledges
Want to do more to find the cures? Go the extra mile and raise additional funds by setting up your own web page. Did you know MORE MONEY IS RAISED ONLINE? Create your own personal webpage on the Race website with your own photo and message. Send personal e-mails from your webpage with the link to friends and family asking them to sponsor your fundraising efforts. Collect donations from you out of town family, friends and neighbors collected both online and offline. It is easy and a great way to help us raise more funds to support our mission.
